To get what you want you must do this

Why would you like to be in better shape? Could you use the same reason to make you like exercising too? What is it that each individual care about the most? It’s how we feel isn’t it?

The real reason you and I want to be in shape is that we believe it will makes us feel good about ourselves. The same thing that drives most of our behaviour. We think about happy feelings in the future – because we want them now! Why not take full advantage of it?

You and I have many rights in life, but being in shape, feeling good about ourselves, freedom from other peoples opinion, self respect, self esteem, self acceptance and complete control of how we feel inside – are not amongst them. These gifts must be earned under examination of the strictest, most doubtful and sceptic judge we know – yourself and myself. It is not a simple task, but it’s possible. What else do you need to hear?

The obstacles are simple to understand and clarify:

  1. We carry false information
  2. We lack access to the right information
  3. We are under the influence of our subconscious mind

The good news is that we can crush these obstacles and walk around feeling like our own best friend, victorious for the rest of the week.

The main tool is the scientific method as applied by Socrates, Bruce Lee, and anybody why had the guts to think for themselves. This science is not about gathering objective results and evidence, but about learning to sharpen our individual subjective attention and ability to gather self knowledge. If you always trust others, you’ll never trust yourself. There is one word to describe trust in one self. It’s called confidence.

The true and blunt reason why people (you and I) don’t exercise is resistance. We don’t feel ready enough, willing enough to do it. But the main obstacle is only an obstacle – but not the problem. The real problem is a false belief. We believe that we can’t change how we feel. However, if you have been following my twice per week morning ritual, you have probably noticed what the truth is. When you are in conflict with yourself (you know you should, but you don’t want to), your mind becomes scattered: All of a sudden, purposeless activity that when finished will give you no reason to be happy with yourself. But these are small problems to smash. Learning the art of feeling great[separate post] is fun and comfortable in itself.

Another obstacle is lack of clarity about exercise – how does it really work? The timing for such a question could not be better. Because it allows me to give a small warning: The answer to this question is useless unless the information above has become you personal knowledge from your personal experience. Unless it becomes part of your set of excellent habit, these words will be worthless. Instead of remembering wisdom, you could know what makes it obvious.

Ok, this is how exercise works:
