—–

At the age of 30, I was out of shape and miserable.
Since I was 17 I had been exercising in the gym but had nothing to show for it. I was disappointed and ashamed of myself because I had really tried my best. So I gave up and quit! 5 years later the athletic version of myself suddenly appeared. It only took 8 weeks – and getting into shape had not even been on my mind! [separate post about Dunham technique] By shear accident I discovered why my attempts to gain muscle and becoming athletic had been impossible.

I started asking myself “how can I explain this to others?” That question took me on a journey that lasted a decade.  I quit my job as economics professor, moved to China and became a professional dancer. I studied all kinds of exercise and movement systems and related research full time. After two years in China, I returned to Norway and  became a fitness instructor. My education as personal trainer, yoga instructor, Pilates instructor, etc did not give me much. They said what I expected them to say. All their knowledge was true for a guy who had been a professional dancer, but I knew it would not work on the guy I used to be – I had already tried! In 2016 a large piece of the answer dropped into my head as a big aha: Anything that I knew at that moment came from self knowledge. I had known all I needed to know my life – without being aware of it. That’s when I knew I just had to make a system from scratch.

My old personal failure to produce results was not due to lack of testosterone or bad genes. It was not lack of protein, creatine or other supplements, not lack of discipline or effort either. The main obstacles were lack of knowledge (about fascia, hormones and the subconscious mind) and lack of self trust.

The problem with self trust is that you don’t get more of it by trusting others. Anybody can give you something to believe in, but you can only get self trust from yourself! I’m here to show you how you can do that and fill up the other blanks.

I think both you and I have one thing in common: Progress is easy and fun for us as long as each step of the way is so fascinating that we MUST continue. Trap 1) Getting in shape can be built on sacrifice and discomfort. But such strategy will only increase the certainty of failure. The biggest reason is that when you tell yourself that you will be pleased about yourself later, you also declare that you are not pleased about yourself now. We do not want to have such ideas running on autopilot!  Let’s say you do succeed, but one day quit your effort. Do you think it will be easier to get started again? No, the body is too smart for that.

Listen, when you see your body and health improve and know that you are responsible  for it and nobody else, you’ll begin to see your best friend in the mirror. This is significant because it affects how we show up in this world. When your stamina, your energy, your positivity are on the rise, you’ll feel great, you’ll perform better at work, you’ll be a better contributor to the family and you will be a better friend.

I’m here to put the knowledge and power about your body back into your hands because being healthy and in shape is a human right. Wen you are the ruler over your confidence and self respect you will love being your wonderful self,  it will make you into a positive force.   With Great Responsibility comes Great Power. Welcome to a new day filled with wonder, curiosity and joy where progress becomes inevitable. What matters most is how we feel about ourselves here now. Let’s get better at getting better together!
